The presence/absence of conformal invariance in 2d non-equilibrium steady states is a fascinating question. Motivated by it, we present a case study of loop ensembles naturally defined on lozenge tiling models driven into steady state by a KPZ-type dynamics. We show strong numerical evidence of conformal invariance and critical percolation signature in the KPZ steady state. These findings will be explained by relating to the Coulomb-gas description of the model at equilibrium. Finally, a closely related conjecture concerning KPZ level lines will be revisited.
